I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my new author website (www.katieburkeauthor.com), focusing on my second book, Sea Change: Women and Nonbinary People Reshaping Surfing Wave by Wave, scheduled for publication in July 2023.
Sharing my surfing journey on my Facebook page has been great fun. From my author website, you can subscribe to my email newsletter, where I will share the stories, photos, and professional illustrations of the surfers I have interviewed for the book.

Readers! My second book is underway. I would love your connections to my potential interviewees!
My working title is Sea Change: Fifty Female and Nonbinary Surfers Transforming Surfing Wave by Wave.
I am interviewing fifty female and nonbinary people who surf anywhere in the U.S. The purpose is to spotlight people who are changing traditional surfing culture by being out there on the waves.
Diversity of all kinds, including age (eighteen and up) and experience level, is welcome and is the point.
For self-evident reasons, my publisher is aiming at a summer release, which means I am writing the final word several months before that. It's a challenge!
I just conceived the idea July 4th Weekend, and one surfer friend has already loaded me up with almost 1/3 of my interviewees! Will you help me get the rest of the way there?

The first book focuses on fifty San Francisco kids (ages 5-9) as they share their lives in the city, including their favorite places to go, their pets, vacations, and career aspirations.
